Simon is perturbed that Nell has become very morbid,wanting to discuss her will and funeral and assures her that she has many good years left. Derek's wife Muriel is about to give birth and,if the child is a boy,Derek wants to call him Adrian. After one false alarm Muriel starts to go into labour at the Harrap house and,whilst everyone else panics,Nell delivers the baby,a girl called Adrienne. All thoughts of death are forgotten and Samantha declares she would like to have children - one day.
