Father warns his family that he is expecting his boss Mr Barraclough and his wife to call that evening, and that everything in the house must be tidy for the visit. The boys' room which is already very untidy, is soon in a far worse state because Mickey gets hiccups and each hic causes something in the room to break into pieces. Ken hastily closes the circuit which gives Mickey the hiccups as Father arrives to show the familu a bunch of his best flowers. The pollen on the flowers makes Mickey sneeze and the sneeze causes Father to vanish in mid-sentence. To Ken's relief, Mickey's next sneeze brings Father back, still still talking and unaware that for a minute he vanished. When Mr Barraclough and his overbearing wife arrive at the house that evening, Mickey is introduced to the guests. Mrs Barraclough's face powder makes Mickey sneeze and she vanishes in mid-sentence. Mr Barraclough seems to be pleased by her absence, but Ken has worked on an antidote to Mickey's sneezes and allows Mickey one more sneeze to bring back Mrs Barraclough before administering the entidote. The Barracloughs leave, and Father angrily turns on the family to blame them for the unsuccessful visit. Mickey produces one more sneeze to make Father disappear in the middle of his tirade. 04 Oct 1980 Cast - JOHN EDWARD Metal Mickey MICHAEL STAINTON Father GEORGINA MELVILLE Mother GARY SHAIL Steve ASHLEY KNIGHT Ken LUCINDA BATESON Haley LOLA YOUNG Janey IRENE HANDL Granny JOHN BARRARD Mr. Barraclough PAT ASHTON Mrs. Barraclough Writen and devised by COLIN BOSTOCK-SMITH Producer/Director - MICHAEL DOLENZ Stage Manager - DAVID MATTHEWS A.S.M. - JANE DENHAM JAMES BOISSEAU Production Assistant - JEANNETTE CHILDS
