Mike and Angelo S6E4 (1994) - FULL EPISODE

Model Child. Howard Fogle, Rita's boss at the advertising agency, has landed a major contract, and they need a happy smiling youngster to star in the poster campaign. At Angelo's insistence, Mike goes for it - but soon everyone's wondering what's become of him and his new-found celebrity attitude. This episode was first broadcast on Tuesday, 15th March, 1994. This is a very funny one, but with a serious side. The opening stunt with the (actually, I won't spoil it) and the closing punchline give big laughs, and there are both gags and situations throughout that are highly amusing, but it's also a breath of fresh air to see scenes where actual good advice is being passed on from adult to child - and that happens twice in this. Meanwhile, Michael Benz proves his range by going all bratty on us *and* falling for feminine wiles at his tender age, and Alexandra Milman... Well, the more I see of her, the more I wonder why we haven't seen more of her down the years. Needless to say, Howard is played by John Savident, best known as Fred Elliot in Coronation Street. It's great to see him at his poshest, having previously been a French art critic in T-Bag. And people accuse him of being typecast! Actually, speaking of T-Bag, did anyone else pick up on the "...and I don't mean tomorrow" and "Get it?"/"Got it"/"Good" catchphrases in this one? I'm afraid there's no CITV continuity, but stay listening right until the very finish for that weird edited-on ending that was a feature of this series.
