Aired on Feb 28, 1972 Season 7 Episode 2 Harold is providing stage furniture for his local amateur drmatical society -and gets roped into joining the cast. Note, Not much to report here restoration-wise, just a simple Yadif 50fps deinterlace, then run through QTGMC progressive mode 2 to cleanup the interlace artifacts, Chroma denoise, Then upscale to 1440x1080p. I tried QTGMC X2 deinterlace initially but found some small details and lines were blurred away (for some reason) so used the Yadif deinterlacer X2 @ 50fps and more detail allbeit noisy were retained, This was cleaned through the QTGMC Mode 2 as described previously etc. Main reason for upscale to 1080p is more bitrate is allocated on youtube playback- which includes audio bitrate as well. (Youtube have now downgraded 720p to SD). Of course i could have uploaded to 480p and most people probably would have been happy but i like to present the highest quality as best i can given my crappy low quality sources.

Series 7 Episode 1 Feb 21 1972 The Steptoe's are playing scrabble and Albert's up to his usual tricks adding swear words to the board! There's a knock at the door and its the vicar- asking for a favor- the vicar mentions he need a article written for the church mag on local businesses and old fashioned trades etc, The Steptoe's fight over who's going to write the piece and they both go hammer and tongs at each other. Note, not too pleased with how this came out-the source video was extremely over-sharpened , i will try another time with some more avisynth scripts to remove the halo's but its just about watchable for now.

Episode 2 Series 6 Aired 9th November 1970. Harold is feeling down on a Sunday afternoon and Albert tries to find out whats bothering him- even asking if he's suffering from "Night Starvation" ! Eventually Albert's gets the truth and discovers its because of Harold's new "Bird". Jean -Harold's new lady is a professional dancer and Harold has told some little fibs about how he can also dance and has featured in a TV show dance competition etc, More laughs ensure as Albert teaches his son some of his dancing moves....

Season 5 Episode 3 March 20th 1970 Harold get a bit of a surprise when a cultured gentleman Mr Timothy Stanhope visits the yard looking for antiques, Stanhope is after dainty relics but soon find something else he fancies! Note: Only so much could be done with this lost/recovered video but I fixed most of the video head dropouts and reduced the vertical shimmer and finished off with a interpolated 50 FPS to try and emulate the video look.

10th October 1974 Series 8 Episode 6 Albert is late home after visiting a Local Seance that features a medium who goes by the name of Madam Fontana. After Harold questions Albert why he's late home (and soaking wet) he tells Harold about the Seance and all the famous people that they have been connected to via madam Fontana, Gandhi and Laurel and Hardy to name but a few have all supposedly appeared and talked to Harold and Albert soon invites The medium to his house for a private session and a few guests.

Season 5 Episode 6 (1970) Albert's been hacking up his lungs as usual and by chance Harold spots a mobile Community Chest X-ray unit on his way home from the rounds and decides it might be a good idea if his father gets a scan pronto! Some minor cleaning and removing scratches and fix the duplicated frames where possible, Not a lot of quality there to restore so did what i could etc, apologies for the added Appzzzman Logo cos normally i never add watermarks to my work- but a whole heaps of my work got re-uploaded and the person didn't even name check me and thank me. I dont mind my stuff being copied but this persons getting tons of great comments and the people think he did the restorations LOL

Series 6 Episode 1 November 2nd 1970 Albert Breaks Harold's rare antiques whilst hoovering and comes up with a plan that burglars were responsible which consisted of a 6 man skinhead team and one Pakistani with a turban on his noggin! Note : Lots of distorted frames repaired and head dropouts,the files had odd duplicate frames in a random fashion and was too laborious to fix all so some jerky moments remain unfortunately, but i performed some motion interpolation to try and give back the video look -and although not perfect it looks a lot better IMHO, This recording came from Galton and Simpsons actual home domestic video recorder tapes.

"Pilgrims Progress" Steptoe & Son (Digital Clean)1080p25fps

aired Nov 15, 1965 Episode 4.07 Albert plans a tour and re-visit of the battle-field in World war one Trouble ensues as its his first time on a aeroplane and there happens to be a Frenchman and American who are also re-visiting on the Same tour, They all get into a argument and Albert and Harold get sent off the plane and back home with "Illegal Alien" printed in bold in both their Passports. Note. Plenty of work here frame-by-frame as there was a lot of warping and off -locks which were tedious to repair,the final file had motion interpolation to simulate the video look, outside shots were left alone and didn't have any motion Interpolation. The audio had quite a bit of noise reduction and Crackle removal in iZotope.

Season 5 Episode 2 March 13 !970 Harold has holiday fever - dreaming of going skiing in Austria, Just one snag, he doesn't want to take the old man who he thinks will cramp his style! Note: The first ten minutes is in colour and the B&W footage processed to lessen the watery vertical edges. Up-scaled to 1080p and applied motion interpolation to 50 FPS.

Series 6 Episode 5 November 30th 1970 Albert and Harold conjure up a crafty scheme to obtain money (to renovate their house) by pretending to buy property in an affluent area- And the neighbors are so distraught at the idea of Rag and Bone men living in the same street they offer to bribe them to stop them buying the property. Note; The law of diminishing returns with the clean up on this poor quality episode apply even more, the wobbly vertical lines and poor definition were not helping and hopefully its a little better to watch than the Box sets.

Episode 6 Season 6 Aired 7th Decemember 1970. After finding out how Albert makes the pie crust edges on his home bakes, Harold reveals he has purchased A Snooker table but forgets to take measurments to see if it will fit in the Steptoe residence. Notes; The source file was recovered from home video recorder tape, Galton and Simpson had these backup viewing copies made by BBC engineer Brian Jenkinson transfering from studio Quad video onto a domestic home video recorder- Sony CV2000.
